Cosby Sea

Overview

The purpose of this club is to educate the students of Cosby High School about the ocean, beyond the typical classroom environment. Through engaging students in fun, relevant, and intuitive ways. Cosby Sea has developed into the Environmental Voice of Cosby High School; spearheading recycling efforts, promoting enviro-responsible lifestyles, and sponsoring annual Earth Day Week activities.

Highlights

Wednesday meetings to collect Aluminum Cans from designated areas around the school – we rinse, stomp, and sell the cans for Aluminum. The proceeds are used to support the Chesapeake Bay Foundation cleanup efforts. Cosby Sea also supports Earth Week in April with a variety of activities, recycling efforts, and student environmental commitments.

Time Commitment

One hour every two weeks – we encourage students to attend all collection days but are understanding of the variety of demands on their lives. We also encourage them to bring friends!

How to Sign Up

Come to a meeting! Annual dues are $20, which we use to purchase t-shirts for club members and purchase additional official recycling cans for around the school.
