Congratulations Synthia Atkinson

2023 Teacher of the Year

There are many incredible teachers who devote their time, energy and heart to instructing students. They spend countless hours creating lesson plans, connecting with parents and building a rapport that will last a lifetime. Synthia Atkinson — though humble about her teaching, learning and community building talents — succeeds in those areas in ways that, quite frankly, we don’t often see. She is our positive behavioral interventions and supports leader and National Junior Honor Society sponsor and, within the past year, earned National Board Certification. At the Nest, we are better because of Synthia and all she does.

Congratulations Erin LaLiberte

2022-23 Teacher of the Year

Erin LaLiberte is, quite simply, a teacher leader. She spends countless hours planning engaging lessons for her students, collaborates closely with members of her algebra team and initiates positive interactions with students, families and staff members. What stands out the most is how she delivers instruction. Her style of teaching is focused on love, building relationships and holding high expectations. This not only yields positive academic results, but, most importantly, builds a sense of belonging and a lasting legacy. When you meet Mrs. LaLiberte, you recognize right away that she is an extraordinary individual.
