Quincy Waller was born and raised in Chester, VA. He and his four siblings are all proud graduates of Lloyd C. Bird HS. After graduating from high school, he attended James Madison University, where he played football, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. Following college, Mr. Waller pursued his dreams of playing professional football, all while working for Federal Express as a courier, and being an assistant football coach for Lloyd C. Bird HS. After two years, Mr. Waller was encouraged to consider returning to school to pursue teacher licensure. Mr. Waller would later enroll at The Johns Hopkins University and obtain his Masters of Arts in Teaching Degree for secondary social studies in 1999. Upon completion of his Master’s program he was offered a social studies position at The Paul Laurence Dunbar School for Health and Business Professions, in Baltimore, MD. He spent six wonderful years teaching various social studies classes (Government, World History, African American Studies, Sociology, and Psychology), and coaching football and track. In the summer of 2006, Mr. Waller returned to Virginia, and acquired a teaching position at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School for Government and International Studies, where he taught Government, and World Studies for five years. During this time he also coached multiple sports teams throughout Chesterfield County at the high school, and middle school levels. After eleven years of teaching and coaching, Mr. Waller pursued and obtained his Certificate of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Richmond. Since then Mr. Waller spent 12 years in leadership working and serving his school community of Lloyd C. Bird. He has been a Dean of Students, an Assistant Principal, and the Associate Principal of Lloyd C. Bird high school. While serving in his leadership capacity Mr. Waller also served as a consultant for Youth League Coaches and coached a flag football team of one of the feeder schools. In the summer of 2023 he began his 24th year in education as the Principal of Falling Creek Middle School. He truly loves kids, and believes in the importance of family, service, and mentoring young people.
