Preparing to Transfer to Matoaca High School

When transferring to Matoaca, please come with the packet provided by your student’s previous school via the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunities for Military Families, if it was provided to you. Please see the registration packet, linked below. Please contact the school at (804) 590-3108 (ext. 217) to make an appointment to register your child and with any questions.

Preparing to Transfer out of Matoaca High School

When preparing to leave Matoaca High School, visit the school counseling office to complete the student withdrawal form. On the last day of attendance, your student will turn in their textbooks, Chromebook, athletic equipment and uniforms, and any other school equipment. If you are transferring overseas, please contact the registrar at (804) 590-3108 (ext. 217) at least one week prior to your student’s last day of attendance. Our registrar will prepare a sealed packet of documentation needed for your student’s enrollment in their new school overseas.

Academic Planning

Your student will be assigned a counselor who will individually plan with the student for their educational goals. Your student’s counselor will be happy to meet with you to discuss specific requirements for the Standard or Advanced Studies Diploma. Chesterfield County offers a wide range of academic programs, including advanced programs, that your student’s counselor can discuss with you. For questions about Special Education programs, please contact our registrar at (804) 590-3108 (ext. 217). For information on home instruction, please contact the Home School Support Specialist at (804) 639-8628. Graduation Planning

Transition Programs

Matoaca High School is proud to be home to both a transition program for incoming freshman (SPIRIT Mentors) and for students who transfer during the school year (Earn Your Stripes).

College Support for Seniors

Matoaca High School partners with our local EOC to provide opportunities for military connected students and first generation college students. An EOC representative is available during a student’s senior to assist the student and their family through the college and scholarship search process, as well as college applications, and FAFSA paperwork for financial aid.

We have several parent organizations who support our school including our Parent Teacher Organization, Athletic Booster, Band Boosters, and Choral Boosters. For information on joining the booster organizations, see you student’s teacher or coach.
