Dr. Rice is a former chemistry teacher entering her 16th year in education. She is a native of Brunswick County, VA, and graduate of Hampton University (B.S), GA Tech (M.S.), and Virginia State University (Ed.D). She has two children, and she resides in Chester, VA.

This is Ms. Ellis-Pope’s third year at Meadowbrook High School. Prior to working at Meadowbrook, she taught at L.C. Bird High school in the Science Department. Ms. Ellis-Pope has earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Virginia in Environmental Science and two master’s degrees from the University of Virginia as well. One degree is in teaching and the other in Administration and Supervision. Ms. Ellis-Pope currently has her National Board certification in Earth and Space Science.

Ms. Frias is excited and honored to serve as one of your new assistant principals this school year. As a CCPS graduate of the Spanish Immersion Program at Manchester High School, she believes and values culture, inclusion, infinite learning, and supporting the whole child. She attended VCU where she earned two Bachelor’s Degrees in Elementary Education and Spanish language. She has earned a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Liberty University and then an Educational Specialist (EdS) degree in Administration and Supervision from Virginia Tech. Before becoming an assistant principal, she taught elementary school then IB Spanish.
Why Statement: I love inspiring young lives and helping students to grow. An essential aspect of instruction for me has been forming meaningful relationships and making learning relevant for students. I firmly believe in creating a “fan club” for each student, and that ALL students CAN learn with the right support from their fan club.

Mr. White is a native of New Jersey. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Math and Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Virginia State University. Mr. White brings over 23 years of experience teaching math in Petersburg, Chesterfield, and Colonial Heights. Mr. White was most recently a Math Coach with Richmond City Public Schools.
Mr. White has 20 years of coaching experience with football at Petersburg and Colonial Heights and wrestling at Matoaca. He was an Assistant Coach for the Matoaca 3X State Championship team: 2014, 2015 & 2016, where there were 16 individual state champions.
Why Statement: I love being that spark in a student’s life that gets them to understand that anything is possible. Everyone can learn and everyone can succeed if they put forth the time and effort.

Mr. Justus is an experienced educator with experience in Health Science and Physical Education, Coaching, Athletic Directing, and Administration. He received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Education from Radford University and a master’s degree in Leadership of Education from Salem International University. Raised in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia by a family of educators; he is a very hard-working individual that is driven to help all students become successful in school, college, and the pathway of their choice. In addition to his primary job functions, Mr. Justus has received the Apple of My Eye award as he was recognized for his extraordinary commitment and dedication to the students. When he is not busy working to make a brighter future for the students; he enjoys training and showing his Italian Mastiff Cane Corso’s and most importantly spending time with his wife Reese and two beautiful children Kaylee and Jace.

Ms. Allmond is excited to be a part of such a dedicated group of educators. Ms. Allmond has been in education for over 20 years. In those years she has served as a Teacher, Instructional Coach through NC New Teacher support program (UNC Chapel Hill), Alternative Ed Administrator, and Dean of Students.
Ms. Allmond believes in supporting the whole child and bridging the gap between all educational stakeholders. Ms. Allmond is a graduate of Barton College, where she earned a B.S in Political Science and a B.A in Religion and Philosophy. She furthered her educational journey through NC Wesleyan and received her certificate in Education and obtained her Advanced Degree in Educational Leadership from Cambridge. Ms. Allmond loves history and continued her studies in Classical History with American Public University.
Presently Ms. Allmond is concluding her last program of studies at Andersonville of School of Theology with her Doctorate of Theology. Before joining Chesterfield Public Schools Ms. Allmond served as the Alternative Ed Administrator and Dean of Students in Charles City Public Schools.
Why statement: Ms. Allmond believes that when you have been afforded many opportunities in life you need to pay it forward. Every child deserves an educator that is willing to move heaven and earth to make their educational experience memorable and meaningful. She wants to be that positive impact in a child’s life!

Stuart Spangler earned his bachelor’s degree in English and master of teaching degree from Virginia Commonwealth University before coming to Meadowbrook in the spring of 2015 as a student teacher. Since then, unable to find the exit to the building, he decided to stay to become the department chair of English in his third year and dean of students in his seventh year, subsisting on Wawa alone. Mr. Spangler earned a second master’s degree in administration and supervision from the University of Virginia to continue support his hobby of paying tuition. He is passionate about students and spreadsheets in no particular order and looks forward to dedicating his time and energy to both. At home, Mr. Spangler is a proud fiancé and a father of a young daughter.
