The girls basketball program of Carver Middle school has the ultimate goal to provide the necessary tools needed to improve all members personally, mentally, athletically emotionally, socially and athletically through the sport of basketball. The girls program will build all girls skill level to prepare for the next level (high school).

Under the direction of Coach L Daniels, the program has won 1 Chesterfield County Middle School Tournament Championship (2019) and 3 Chesterfield County Middle School Tournament Runner-Ups (2020, 2021 Spring COVID abbreviated season and 2021 Fall). Coach Daniels begin coaching in 2018 at Carver Middle to present. Her teams over the years have accumulated a total of 34 wins and 7 losses.

For the 2022-2023, the regular season games will begin on September 15th and end October 20th. All games are on Tuesdays and Thursday with a game time of 2:30 p.m., except the Tomahawk Middle game 9/27/22 which will began at 3:30 p.m. All regular season games are $1.00 students and $3.00 adults. All CCPS Employees are free with ID Badge. Tournament play could potential follow based on regular season record. More information forthcoming for tournament. Tournament prices are $1.00 student and $5.00 adult. All CCPS Employees are free with ID Badge.

Girls basketball tryouts will be held August 29th immediately after school till 4:00 p.m. Please ensure all young ladies have t-shirts, shorts and basketball sneakers. A VHSL physical completed by a doctor dated after May 1, 2022 and a signed concussion form should be on file prior to tryouts. Along with possessing the necessary skills to play basketball (make lay-ups, jump-shots, dribbling, defense, etc.) a student athlete must be passing 5 classes per CCPS in order to be eligible to play.
