Cross Country

Team Overview

The cross country team is made up of students in grades 6-8 who enjoy running and want to participate in a team sport. Students are not cut from the team. We believe all students who are willing to set goals, follow the school’s expectations and consistently work hard will benefit from being a part of the team. Our goal is to create a supportive, positive and competitive environment that promotes a healthy lifestyle and physical fitness.

Team Highlights

Our team averages 20-25 runners. The boys and girls teams have achieved a great deal of success in the past, including earning the 2017 Southern Division championship. With a commitment to discipline, a positive attitude, motivation, teamwork and a good work ethic, we believe our team will continue to be successful.

Pre-season

To participate, each student athlete must complete a VHSL physical, risk and emergency authorization forms and the concussion information sheet. These forms are available in the front office and on the school website, and they must be submitted to the front office before attending tryouts. Runners are placed into groups based on their pace so they can train with teammates performing at similar levels.
