The mission of the Girls Soccer program at Salem Middle School is to develop and improve soccer skills, while promoting good sportsmanship and encouraging high standards of performance and conduct on and off the field, requiring discipline, honesty, hard work, commitment, respect and humility.

The program is improving and growing from year to year.

There is no required pre-season training. Stay active and practice on your own or with friends. Or – join another school team that plays in the Fall, such as Cross Country!

For the 2022-23 school year, regular season games will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning March 2nd and ending April 13th. Playoffs will begin the following week.

Tryouts will be February 14 – 17, 2023. Tryout times will be 2:15 – 4:00 p.m. Please arrange for your transportation to pick you up no later than 4:15 pm. A sports physical form must be submitted on or before the first day of tryouts. The physical must have taken place after May 1, 2022. Athletes need to have passed five classes in the previous semester per VHSL rules in order to be eligible to play. Workout clothes, shinguards and cleats are required. Please bring a water bottle. Practice will be held rain or shine. Bring appropriate gym shoes for possible indoor training.
