Chesterfield County Public Schools broke ground for Moseley Elementary in November 2020, and Principal Karen Dubiel and her team will welcome the first students Aug. 22, 2022. Budgeted for $32.6 million as part of the capital improvement program of Chesterfield County Public Schools, Moseley Elementary was completed on time and under budget. 

The new school’s attendance zone includes students previously zoned to attend Grange Hall Elementary, Winterpock Elementary and Woolridge Elementary. The school mascot is the Mustangs, and school colors are blue and gray.

Moseley Elementary is a one-story, brick veneer building designed with a core area (for administration, media center, art, music and cafetorium) with three academic wings for grades K-5. This video — youtu.be/-p8pgVUSC6I — offers a virtual peek inside the new school.

Security features include a secure vestibule, cameras, motion sensors, card access readers, key management and fencing. Additional features include 75-inch interactive monitors in all classrooms; flexible common space in each wing; dedicated wi-fi throughout the building; LED lighting; water bottle stations; ample storage in each classroom; and touchless lavatories and flush sensors in restrooms.

Site improvements include vehicular and pedestrian connections to Magnolia Green Parkway, including turn lanes; large teacher and staff parking lot with a parent drop-off loop; separate school bus entrance and drop-off loop; playgrounds; athletic fields; and stormwater management features.

Located in western Chesterfield County in the Matoaca District, Moseley Elementary encompasses 104,621 square feet with space for 900 students. Budgeted for $32.6 million as part of the capital improvement program of Chesterfield County Public Schools, Moseley Elementary was completed on time and under budget. 

School and community leaders cut a blue ribbon to officially open Moseley Elementary School on July 25, 2022. It is the 40th elementary school of central Virginia’s largest school system.
