Dr. Stephen Hackett, Principal

Dr. Hackett resides in Chester, VA with his wife and three children. Since 2004 he has worked for Chesterfield County Public Schools as a teacher, coach, mentor, and administrator. He spent the first 10 years in the classroom teaching Technology and Engineering classes, prior to Carver Academy he was the Assistant and Associate Principal of Chesterfield Career and Technical Center’s Hull Street campus. Dr. Hackett earned a Bachelor of Science in Technical Education from Buffalo State University, a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has a passion for Career and Technical Education and believes in experiential learning that uses authentic and captivating learning experiences to help students meet their goals as they pursue their career dreams.

Dr. Dana Dale, Associate Principal

Dr. Dale started her career in Kirksville, Missouri, working with exceptional education students at the local middle school. In 2003, she moved to Virginia, where she taught 6th grade mathematics in Henrico. In 2004, Dr. Dale made the jump to Chesterfield County, where she taught math at Carver Middle, Manchester Middle, and Falling Creek Middle. Dr. Dale started her administrative career by serving two years as the Dean of Students at Cosby High School before joining the Carver Academy administrative team. Dr. Dale earned an undergraduate degree in Business Education from Buena Vista University in Iowa and completed her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she also received the William C. Bosher, Jr. Scholarship. Dr. Dale earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University, where she focused her research on lowering chronic absenteeism.

Dr. Dale is a proud mother of seven CCPS graduates and looks forward to seeing her grandsons become products of CCPS schools. Dr. Dale strives to help teachers provide the best learning opportunities for students because she believes that all students have the ability to learn and become their best selves!

Michelle Wilder, Assistant Principal

Ms. Wilder is proud to be a product of Chesterfield County Public Schools. After graduating from James Madison University, Ms. Wilder began her career as a classroom teacher at Midlothian High School. Her passion for helping students led her to Longwood University, where she received a Master of Science in Counseling. After serving as a professional school counselor at Lloyd C Bird High School and Manchester High School, Ms. Wilder received a Post-Master’s Certificate in Administration and Supervision at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has worked as a dean and assistant principal in several high schools in the county. Ms. Wilder is excited to be a member of the Carver College and Career Academy family!
