Big energy and big smiles made Sept. 23 a big day at Curtis Elementary. During a pep rally that included music by the Thomas Dale High marching band, new students spun a wheel to find out which of the school’s six houses they would join. Wearing their house colors and waving posters, students and teachers cheered as they greeted their new members.
Empatia is the red house, represented by an elephant.
Tharros is the orange house, represented by a lion.
Umoja is the yellow house, represented by a wolf.
Aloha is the green house, represented by a dolphin.
Xikmad is the blue house, represented by an eagle.
Integritas is the purple house, represented by an otter.
