Headshot of Jimmy Milcarek

Jimmy Milcarek, Dean of Students

My name is Jimmy Milcarek and I am thrilled to be a Raven. While this is my second year as a Raven Dean of Students, it is my 25th year in education.

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. I am a huge Steelers fan and live for my black and gold football team. I am a former Cold War B-52 aviator and Air Force Veteran. I was in the service when the Berlin Wall fell and through Desert Storm.

I am married to my wife, Eliza, a history teacher in Henrico County. I am the proud father of four, from National Weather Service meteorologist to my spunky, uber talented 7th grader.

I have a Masters in Educational Leadership from California University of Pennsylvania, now Penn West California. I moved to Virginia in 1994 and have taught all subjects from 3rd to 8th grade in Powhatan County, Richmond City and Henrico before joining our Raven Nest.

I am a huge fan of Marvel comics. I can definitely geek out on the MCU and all things Stan Lee. I have two 150+ pound Great Pyrenees puppies, Rocket and Groot and 3 amazing, yet, weird cats.

I am honored to have each EDMS student as a part of my academic life. I do love our mantra, “Once a Raven, Always a Raven!” It truly defines our incredible, personal, invigorating selfless community! Let’s go!!!
