SMART – Freshman Mentor Program

Overview

The SMART mentor team is a group of upperclassmen (juniors and seniors) who help the incoming class of Freshman adjust to high school and show them the Lancer Way. This is a wonderful team to be a part of! Are you interested in giving back to MHS? What better way to make a difference than by helping new students feel welcome and ready for high school.

Highlights

Mentors will be grouped with their peers and together lead meetings with their freshmen groups. As a mentor you will discuss different school related topics throughout the year and also be a person the freshman can connect with. The SMART program ends each year in February with a recognition celebration.

Time Commitment

Mentors are required to attend all trainings.

  • A half day in school training Apr 12, 2023

  • Thursday Aug. 17 2023

  • Monday Aug. 21, 2023. The first day of school for Freshman.

In addition mentors will meet with their freshmen twice a month in the beginning of the school year then once a month after November till February.
