Superintendent Merv Daugherty is the Superintendent of the Year for Region 1, which covers 15 localities in central Virginia. The Virginia Superintendent of the Year will be chosen from the state’s eight regional honorees, and the winner will be announced during the Virginia Association of School Superintendents conference in April.
