The board approved memo #095-23, which recommended that the School Board approve the above referenced new policy and proposed revisions to current policies and regulations; and, schedule these to become effective immediately.

The board approved memo #096-23, which recommended that the School Board approve the above referenced revisions to current policies and regulations; and, schedule these to become effective immediately.

The board approved memo #104-23, which recommended that the School Board:

  • Suspend its rules — as set forth in policy 1200, Policy Adoption, Revision, Suspension — and waive a second reading of the policies contained in this memorandum; and
  • Upon approval of recommended action #1 immediately above, it is further recommended that the School Board adopt the policies described herein, so that each is effective immediately.

The board approved memo #097-23, which recommended that the board:

  • Approve the revenue adjustments and appropriations changes outlined in schedule A;
  • Approve the reserve requirements/requests as shown in schedule B; and
  • Approve the reserve requests for FY 2023-budgeted activities continuing into FY 2024 as shown in schedule C.
  • Request that any remaining ending balance based on the final FY 2023 audit be reserved for future school needs in the general fund; and
  • Approve the resolution to the Board of Supervisors in attachment B and authorize the superintendent to make other appropriation adjustments to the school operating fund as may be necessary to implement the actions contained in this year-end budget review.

The board approved memo #099-23, which recommended that the School Board authorize the director of Procurement to award requirements contracts, by lot, with the consulting firms listed in this memorandum. No funding is requested as part of this recommendation.

The board approved memo #100-23, which recommended that the School Board authorize the director of Procurement to approve change order #009, in the amount of $203,455, under contract (ADMN23000212) with Gulf Seaboard for the credits and costs associated with technology upgrades at Falling Creek Middle.

Board discussion The board approved memo #103-23, which recommended that the School Board consider the above referenced new policy and proposed revisions to current policies and regulations and schedule these for second reading and adoption at the School Board’s next regular meeting.

The board approved memo #098-23, which recommended that the School Board adopt the attached School Board compensation resolution setting the annual salary for board members beginning Jan. 1, 2024, to be $28,000, with the chair receiving an additional $2,000.
