Administrative appointments
Dr. Daugherty introduced these new administrators:
Joel Eberts, principal of Reams Road Elementary
Gilbani Feliciano-Lugo, principal Jacobs Road Elementary

Stacy Stanford, principal of Chesterfield Virtual School
The board approved these administrators as part of the recommended personnel actions:

Patrick Bradley, dean of students of Bailey Bridge Middle
Hope Collins, assistant principal of Bird High
Catherine Dillingham, associate principal of Marguerite Christian Elementary

Awards and recognitions
James River High graduating senior Sophie Jones received a scholarship connected to
Superintendent Merv Daugherty being named Region 1 Superintendent of the Year.
James River High won the state championship in forensics, and students from James River
High and Bird High won individual forensics titles.
The James River High girls indoor track team won its first-ever state title.
Recognizing staff success
Stacey Link of Moseley Elementary is the CCPS Nurse of the Year.
Recognizing beginning teachers
The Elementary School Beginning Teacher of the Year is Amanda Matejunas, who teaches
fifth grade at Winterpock Elementary.
The Middle School Beginning Teacher of the Year is Edward Allen, who teaches sixth grade
social studies at Manchester Middle.
The High School Beginning Teacher of the Year is Morgan Gilbert, who teaches world history
and Virginia and U.S. history at Midlothian High.
The overall CCPS Beginning Teacher of the Year is Caroline Gryder, who teaches music at
Bellwood Elementary.
VSBA Business Honor Roll
The School Board recognized Feinstein 360 Orthodontics and Bon Secours for their continued support to help shape community attitudes about public education.
These bus drivers were recognized for outstanding performance:
William “Mike” Barrett, Area 1, Bus 803, one year of service
Joe Carpenter, Area 2, Bus 499, 21 years of service
Derrick Toler, Area 3, Bus 650, seven months of service
